Volunteer Day – Maui

Restore Pouhala Marsh – O‘ahu

February 22 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Hawai‘i Nature Center on Saturday, February 22 in removing invasive species including pickleweed, cattail, and mangrove. Establish habitats for endangered waterbirds in a coastal marsh that has a remnant fishpond and is the largest remaining wetland habitat in Pearl Harbor. Must be 18 or older. Bring work gloves, hat, sunscreen, clothes that can get wet and dirty, change of clothes, towel, and covered shoes such as rubber boots. No restrooms or fresh water available. Pahole Natural Area Reserve Hike – O‘ahu

March 21 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

Enjoy the beauty of the Wai‘anae Mountains and learn about many unique and rare species of plants. We may even glimpse an endangered Hawaiian tree snail in its leeward moist forest habitat.
