Project Description
My name is Sydney Kalipi, and I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering while gaining hands-on experience with the Hawai‘i Nature Center. Born and raised on Molokaʻi, my upbringing gave me a deep respect for the environment and sparked a passion for sustainability. After earning a degree in fashion and running my own small business, I decided to shift my career toward environmental education and preservation, where I feel I can make a lasting impact.
I am committed to my community and passionate about blending education, environmental stewardship and cultural values to inspire future generations. At the Hawaiʻi Nature Center, I have the opportunity to collaborate with local organizations, mentor students and take part in projects that support conservation and sustainability across the islands.
Giving back to my home and helping keiki connect with the natural world is both a privilege and a responsibility. I hope to inspire others to see the beauty and importance of caring for our land and resources.
My journey is fueled by a belief in the power of education to empower communities and a strong desire to help create a sustainable future for Hawaiʻi.
