Middle school students can overnight with us
Students who will be entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in Fall 2018 are invited to attend Hawai‘i Nature Center’s Ahupua‘a Overnight Camp on O‘ahu, which will be held August 2 to 3 and include two full days of action-packed fun.
Campers will hike, study the land and learn how nature and people have altered the Ahupua‘a. Hands-on experiences for these lessons include gardening, composting, stream study, watershed explorations and other activities that integrate traditional and contemporary sustainable practices. Participants will also work in a lo‘i (taro patch). The evening stay will include a pizza party, campfire and tent camping. The program concludes with group reflections and presentations on solutions to current environmental challenges.
Camps are open to Hawai‘i residents entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in Fall 2018.
Cost starts at $200 for Hawai‘i Nature Center members.
