Project Description
October 2022 – Summer is officially over. Hawaii Nature Center volunteers took nature by storm today to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Nature got a breath of fresh air with 15 Oahu volunteers from Alexander & Baldwin who cleared invasive plants from trail heads.
The company offers one day of paid leave for its employees to volunteer at a charity of their choice each year. These volunteers opted to get outside and get to work in nature’s backyard. They learned about native and invasive species and what it takes to protect Hawaii’s rainforests.
Special thanks to HNC board member Tran Chinery of A&B who led this initiative. Volunteer groups are always needed at the centers on Maui and Oahu. Learn more here on how to get involved.
