Project Description
December 2024 – As the holiday season approaches, Hawaiʻi Nature Center invites you to join an exciting new initiative that promises to benefit the environment, children, and our community. With the generous support of PBR HAWAII, we are launching a Pollinator Garden Project, aimed at creating a sanctuary for pollinators and an educational resource on Oʻahu.
Pollinators like bees, butterflies, and birds are crucial for ecosystem health and food crop success. However, they face threats from habitat loss, invasive species, and climate change. Our Pollinator Garden will provide a refuge for these species and serve as a hands-on learning space for keiki to explore the importance of pollinators.
This holiday season, we aim to raise $20,000 for the garden’s construction and educational programs. Your donation will help create a sustainable pollinator habitat with native plants, develop educational resources, and install signage to raise awareness about the garden and its pollinators. Donations of $500 or more will receive an invite to our 2025 Night in Nature, while donations of $1,000 or more will have your name featured on educational signs in the garden. Your donation is tax-deductible, and we will keep you updated on the garden’s progress.
Mahalo for supporting Hawaiʻi’s ʻāina and inspiring future environmental stewards. Happy Holidays from Hawaiʻi Nature Center!
