Project Description
Sydney Kalipi is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering while gaining hands-on experience with the Hawai‘i Nature Center. Born and raised on Molokai, Sydney’s upbringing instilled in her a deep respect for the environment and a passion for sustainability. After earning a degree in fashion and successfully running her own small business, she decided to redirect her career to focus on creating lasting change in environmental education and preservation.
With a strong commitment to her community, Sydney is dedicated to blending education, environmental stewardship, and cultural values to inspire future generations. Her role at the Hawaiian Nature Center allows her to collaborate with local organizations, mentor students, and engage in meaningful projects that promote conservation and sustainability across the islands.
“Being able to give back to my home and nurture a connection between our keiki and the natural world is both a privilege and a responsibility,” says Sydney. “I hope to inspire others to see the beauty and importance of caring for our land and resources.”
Sydney’s journey is fueled by her belief in empowering communities through education and her drive to create a sustainable future for Hawai‘i.
