Project Description
February 2025 – Get ready for an unforgettable spring break with our Nature Adventure Camps. Enrollment is now open for two exciting weeks of exploration, discovery and hands-on learning in Hawaiʻi’s incredible natural landscapes. These camps are designed for children ages 6 to 11 and run from 8 AM to 3 PM. Limited scholarships are available for keiki who receive free or reduced lunch, so be sure to visit our website for more details.
The first week, Magnificent Mountains – Oʻahu’s Mountain Ranges, runs from March 17 to 22 as a five-day program. The cost is $420 for members and $495 for the general public. Oʻahu was formed by two massive shield volcanoes, and their remnants, the Koʻolau and Waiʻanae mountain ranges, are home to rare and endangered species found nowhere else in the world. Campers will discover how Hawaiʻi’s mountains were formed, learn about the role of mountains in our watersheds and explore native plants and animals that depend on these unique ecosystems. If your child loves the great outdoors, this camp is the perfect way to connect with nature and learn about the land we call home.
The second week, Nature’s Reading Adventures, takes place from March 24 to 28 as a four-day program. The cost is $335 for members and $410 for the general public. This week blends storytelling with adventure, allowing campers to explore a new environment each day through captivating books, hands-on activities and immersive field experiences. They will learn about the coexistence of native marine species, follow the journey of native birds from the shoreline to the summit, explore the importance of freshwater streams and water resources, and trek into a Hawaiian rainforest to experience nature through the eyes of a story’s main character.
Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out. Give your child the gift of adventure and learning this spring by registering today. Learn more here.
