Project Description
April 2025 – Summer is just around the corner to celebrate childhood, one adventure at a time. By stepping outside, discovering, and experiencing nature, we help combat the extinction of experience and nurture a generation that values and protects the world around them.
Maui Nature Adventure Camps returns by popular demand and is open for enrollment. Our camps provide the perfect antidote to indoor, screen-filled routines. It’s an opportunity for kids to engage in hands-on learning in the great outdoors. Only about a dozen students can enroll each week to experience our exclusive curriculum in a small learning team environment. Based in Kihei at Keālia Pond, these multi-day camps will include adventures to various ecosystems throughout Maui. The new program is specifically designed for children, ages 6 to 11, and runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Each program is one week long but may be just four days if there’s a holiday. Parents can choose from five exciting weeks, each with a specific theme, from June 2 to July 25. In addition to hands-on science lessons, students will enjoy nature journaling and art projects, enhancing their academic learning. Go here to learn about each week’s program.
Over the course of 5 weeks, students study Maui’s ahupuaʻa system, volcanoes, rainforests, coastal ecosystems, native birds, marine life, invasive species, Hawaiian stories and more. The series encourages curiosity and fosters environmental stewardship while engaging students in creative projects like lava rock art, mini rainforests and reef models. The program culminates in a presentation where students share their knowledge, experiences and commitment to protecting Maui’s natural treasures. This empowers children with the confidence to speak about the world they’ve learned about and shows them the impact of their actions on the environment. Check out our Instagram to learn more.
