Project Description
March 2025 – Hawai‘i Nature Center launched an all-new partnership with Maui schools this month with outdoor science field trips that align with Next Generation Science Standards, a guide used by school teachers to meet academic benchmarks. These programs are available for various grade levels, from Kindergarten through 6th grade, and cover topics such as nature exploration, plant and animal cycles, wetlands, forests and oceanic ecosystems.
Teachers and schools can sign up to request field trip experiences with Hawai’i Nature Center’s environmental educators who specialize in science-based, hands-on learning and activities such as hiking, fishing and nature journaling.
As we continue to launch and expand these Maui offerings, we need additional partnerships with schools, educators and volunteers. Contact Maui Program Manager Rachael Taylor at 808.446.4672 for more information. Program fees vary depending on the school type and number of students, with special rates for Title 1 schools.
Also new for Maui, Hawaiʻi Nature Center has launched a partnership program that began on February 28: a Nature Science & Art Series for the students of Hawaiʻi Tech Academy as part of its After School Program in Kihei. The program explores Hawaiʻi’s geography, plants, animals and conservation through hands-on activities, games and storytelling. Check out our week by week overview.
We’re growing by leaps and bounds and are looking for new hires to join our team.
