Project Description
November 2023 – We are grateful for so much at Hawai’i Nature Center – especially the children of Hawai’i and the philanthropists who empower our mission. Kalaeloa Partners of west Oahu brought the Boys and Girls Club of Nanakuli and they had the opportunity to participate in Hawai‘i Nature Center’s Nature Explore program on Saturday October 28. 14 keiki explored the trails in Makiki Valley, hiking to a vantage point overlooking Honolulu and Waikiki before spending time along Makiki Stream, discovering its abundant aquatic life.
This opportunity was supported from a generous donation from Kalaeloa Partners who has invested in the Hawai‘i Nature Center and our efforts of connecting children and families to nature for many years.
When asked about the impact, Claudia “Lala” Fernandez, EVP & Chief Operations Officer of the Boys and Girls Club Hawaii said, “They loved everything about it and learned so much. Appreciate you and Kalaeloa Partners giving us this amazing opportunity for our youths.”
