Preschool
Children of the Land
Get acquainted with nature while learning about the wonders of water, explore mountain trails and special homes of animals that live in the forest.

During School Year: Wednesdays | Summer: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 9:30 – 11:30 am

Kindergarten
Introduction to Nature
Experience a sensory exploration of living and non-living parts of nature while learning to appreciate the outdoors. Hike through the forest, learn how soil is created and explore a mini-stream ecosystem.

Year Round | 9 am – 12 pm

First Grade
Introduction to Plants, Animals & Healthy Habitats
Explore streams and forests of ‘Īao Valley while learning about survival, the food chain and stream life. Demonstrate ways to help keep our habitats healthy.

Year Round | 9 am – 12:30 pm

Second Grade
Cycles in Nature
Examine the importance of five main cycles in nature while hiking, fishing at the stream and hunting for decomposers. See how cycles are interconnected and how we play a part.

Year Round | 9 am – 12:30 pm

Third Grade
Discover Wetlands
Head to U.S Fish and Wildlife Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge and learn about the importance of wetlands and how adaptation, interdependence and dispersal play key roles in this ecosystem.

Spring Semester| 9 am – 12:30 pm

Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Grades
Forest Encounters
Explore the forest of ‘Īao Valley while learning about geological, biological and human-caused changes. Learn about changes that have local and global impacts and suggest ways for creating a better future for Hawai`i.

Year Round | 9 am – 12:30 pm

Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Grades
Coastal Encounters

Examine how plants and animals adapt to coastal areas. Learn how people have used the coast in the past and our impact on the coast today. Topics include archaeology, native and introduced species, and marine debris.

The discounted rate for multiple bookings applies if more than one trip is scheduled by the same school in a given semester.
